Tiantian Xu

Born in China, Tiantian Xu started learning piano at the age of 5 and attended the Shenzhen Arts School in 1995 where she studied with Professor Dan Zhaoyi. Since giving her debut recital at the age of 9, she has performed in Germany, USA, France, Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, Spain and China.

At the age of 9, she has won the 2nd Prize at the Hong Kong Asian International Piano Competition then she claimed her 1st Prize 6 years later at the age of 15. In her native China, she has won 1st Prize at the Red River International Arts Academy Piano Competition, 1st prize at China National Piano Duo Competition, 3rd Prize at “Zhujiang” Cup National Piano Competition, 3rd prize at the Xinghai Cup National Piano Competition. She then became the Laureates at both 1999 Carl Czerny International Piano Competition and 2003 Ibiza International Piano Competition.

As a chamber musician, she was also the finalist of the 2009 Royal Overseas-League Chamber Music Competition in United Kingdom and she has worked intensively with many celebrated chamber musicians including Vivian Weilerstein, Donald Weilerstein, Kim Kashkashian, Arnold Steinhardt from Guarneri String Quartet, Stephen Drury, Berromeo String Quartet, Joint Venture Duo, among many others with her repertoires ranging from J.S. Bach to Arvo Pärt.

Tiantian became the Artist-in-Residence at Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris in its season 2014/15 after her success receiving the Cité Internationale des Arts Music and Visual Arts Commissions Award in 2014. Since then, she has given recitals at “Concert des Laureates” at Salle de Cesar Franck, La Schola Cantorum de Paris, National Centre of Performing Arts in Beijing, Grand Hall of Xi’an Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Oriental Theatre, Shenzhen Grand Theatre; Jordan Hall in Boston, U.S.A. She has also performed at New England Conservatory’s Wagner & Verdi Festival and Hindemith Festival.

Tiantian received her Master of Music at the New England Conservatory, Boston in U.S.A, where she was recipients of both “Saj-nicole A.Joni Endowed Scholarship Fund” in Honor of Patricia Zander and New England Conservatory Merit Scholarship. Tiantian continued her studies even further and obtained the “Diplome de Virtuosite” with 1st Prize in Piano Performance, “Diplome de Concert” and “Diplome Superieur de Musique de Chambre” at Schola Cantorum in Paris.

She has also received masterclasses from renowned artists such as Hung-Kuan Chen, Eleanor Wong, Gabriel Kwok, Jean-Pierre Wallez, Michel Merlet, Theodore Parachivesco, Nelita True, Mariah Hahn, Martin Roscoe, George Hadjinikos, Guangren Zhou, Huiqiao Bao, Natasha Vlassenko, Noriko Ogawa, Read Gainsford and among others.

Tiantian is the recipient of the “Bonded Merit Scholarship” from New Zealand Government and she has also received the Honorary Citizenship of the State of Oklahoma in United States when she was invited to participate in the Red River Arts Academy at Oklahoma State University.

Tiantian is currently a professor of piano at Schola Cantorum in Paris.


Tiantian Xu donne son premier récital à 9 ans. Son parcours est jalonné de nombreux prix nationaux et internationaux en qualité de pianiste solo et de musicienne de chambre. Elle s’est produite en Allemagne, Etats-Unis, République tchèque, Australie, Espagne, Chine, France et bien évidemment, en Nouvelle-Zélande.

Elle a achevé un Master en Musique au New England Conservatory de Boston où elle est lauréat de Saj-nicole A.joni Endowed Scholarship Fund in Honor of Patricia Zander ainsi que NEC merit scholarship, et a l’université d’Auckland. Puis elle s’est perfectionné auprès de M.Tamas Vesmas à Paris où elle était lauréat de commission de musique et arts-visuels de cité internationale des arts Paris. 

Tiantian a obtenu le diplôme de virtuosté avec mention très bien à l’unanimité et félicitations du jury, le diplôme de concert, ainsi que le diplôme supérieur de musique de chambre dans la classe de M. Jean Pierre Wallez et M. Tamas Vesmas à la Schola Cantorum Paris.

Actuellement Tiantian est professeure de Piano à la Schola Cantorum Paris.


田恬, 1987年生, 五岁开始学习钢琴, 七岁起师从于中国著名钢琴教育家但昭义教授。从小多次在国内外钢琴比赛中获奖, 例如: 香港亚洲钢琴公开赛第二名; 第一届全国双钢琴比赛第一名; 成都“珠江杯”全国钢琴比赛第三名; 美国“红河”音乐节钢琴比赛第一名; 北京“星海杯”全国钢琴比赛专业组三等奖, 香港亚洲钢琴公开赛八级组第一名。卡尔-车尔尼国际钢琴比赛优胜奖等。在师从但昭义教授的八年间, 徐田恬曾到美国, 德国, 西班牙, 捷克斯洛伐克, 澳大利亚, 意大利, 香港等国进行演出及交流。1999年徐田恬被邀请参加美国俄克拉荷马“红河”钢琴大师班, 并荣获俄克拉荷马荣誉市民证书,2000年再次被邀请参加“红河”大师班。2001年作为钢琴独奏跟随深圳艺校艺术团赴澳大利亚高士顿中学演出获得巨大成功。2005年纽西兰国家室内乐比赛金奖, 并获年度杰出青年演奏家提名。曾获多项音乐学院和政府颁发的奖学金, 包括Bonded Merit奖学金; Lwelyn Jones Scholarship for Pianist in 2007 & 2008; 年度钢琴表演奖章 (Annual Prize in Performance) 以及Anne Bellam 奖学金。徐田恬于2012年以优异成绩考入美国著名学府新英格音乐学院并获得音乐学院绩优奖学金和Patricia Sander 纪念奖学金。2014年以优异成绩毕业获得钢琴演奏硕士学位。曾先后从师于罗马尼亚著名钢琴家及教育家,1968年德彪西国际钢琴比赛金奖得主, 与钢琴演奏界泰斗迪努.里帕蒂同出一师的陶马什·怀斯玛斯教授, 德裔名师Veronica Jochum, 世界小提琴大师Ruggiero Ricci 之子Gian Franco Ricci, 并受到多位国际著名钢琴家包括Martin Roscoe, Hung-kuan Chen, Vivian Weilerstein, Noriko Ogawa, Piers Lane 及 Natasha Vlassenko的指点和青睐。此外,徐田恬曾多次应邀成功举办个人音乐会, 重奏音乐会以及协奏曲音乐会, 其中包括新英格兰音乐学院欣德米斯纪念音乐节和power of truth年度音乐节, 在波士顿乔丹大厅和威廉厅的独奏会; 巴黎国际艺术城艺术家系列音乐会; 2014年荣获巴黎国际艺术城音乐及视觉艺术委员会奖, 并于2015-2019年间在巴黎圣歌学院 (Schola Cantorum Paris) 取得了diplôme de virtuosité, 最高级演奏家文凭以及室内乐高级文凭并成为该院教授。

Jason Bae is the Founder & Music Director of Afflatus Ensemble and has recently finished his two-year role as the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra Conducting Fellowship Programme Conductor in 2020/21. Jason made his debut in Stockholm, conducting the Aurora Festival Orchestra - presenting the Swedish premiere of "Violent, Violent Sea" by the American composer, Missy Mazzoli. Last year, Jason gave the New Zealand Premiere of Lotta Wennäkoski's "Nosztalgiaim" with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra National Youth Orchestra.

He has received masterclasses with renowned conductors such as Osmo Vänskä with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Jorma Panula with South Denmark Philharmonic Orchestra, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, Vaasa City Orchestra, Hamish McKeich, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Holly Mathieson and Gemma New with New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Formerly trained as a pianist, Jason received his Master of Arts in piano performance with the highest distinction award, 'DipRAM' at the Royal Academy of Music in London studied under the Professor Emeritus Christopher Elton and Joanna MacGregor in 2015. Jason then further studied orchestral conducting and was mentored by Jukka-Pekka Saraste. Currently, he has been accepted to study his second Masters Degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm as the only recipient receiving the entire full scholarship from the college.
